Get Involved

Do you fancy getting involved in a local community group or learning a new skill online? If so, ONSIDE can help. We provide one-to-one support to participants to become active citizens in their own community.

We will support you to create community connections that are tailored to your interests and suit your needs. ONSIDE will also provide you with digital training and free Android tablet to enable you to connect with family, friends, apps, hobbies and classes online.

ONSIDE services are free, impartial and confidential.

If you are apprehensive about trying something new, you’re not alone. Many of our past participants felt exactly the same in the beginning.

Listen to our participants explain how they felt unsure and anxious in the beginning (video on the left) and then listen to the same participants explain how the ONSIDE project enabled and empowered them to become active citizens in their local community and online (video above). You can do this!

How we adhere to COVID-19 safety guidelines

We are now focusing on providing person-centred support across all areas of the project via telephone, email and on-line software. We are now delivering digital training to participants via Zoom. Prior to training, an ONSIDE team member delivers an android tablet and printed support materials. During training they also provide 1-2-1 support (support is determined by participants’ level of IT skills). Once participants are confident online, our Community Navigators will then map out tailored social connections e.g. online hobbies, online health & well-being classes and social media platforms, based on participants’ interests and needs.
